The role of the SEND Operations Team at Essex County Council is to carry out responsibilities that are set by the government on behalf of Essex children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).  These are outlined in the SEND code of practice: 0 to 25 years.

The SEND Operations Team is responsible for:

coordinating the EHCP process for children and young people in need of a plan, including
administration of the 20 week statutory process
annual reviews
arranging of provision and placements
supporting settings, schools and families to put One Plans and EHCPs in place
supporting transitions for children and young people with EHCPs
building on links between settings, schools, families, social care and health services during the EHCP process

The West Essex area covers Epping, Harlow and Uttlesford.
