SNAP’s vision is to provide a safe environment offering a wide range of support and specialist services with the aim to increase resilience and empowerment within our families. SNAP’s ethos is about strengthening all members of the family.
There’s nothing too small or too large you can do to help SNAP; if you would like to support us, there’s lots of opportunity and we’d welcome your contribution.
From our base in Brentwood, SNAP is an Essex charity which helps thousands of families with children and young people who have an additional need or disability.
“If what I do in any small way helps to support the work that SNAP do then I am going some way to thanking them for the myriad of ways in which they have supported my son and I. SNAP provides the kind of support that just cannot be accessed elsewhere which makes it a vital resource and being a small part in keeping that resource going gives me a huge feeling of satisfaction.”
In 2017, Birketts LLP chose SNAP as their charity to benefit from their annual Birketts Race4Business, a 3.5 mile race through Chelmsford’s parks for the business community. Alida volunteered as a marshal on the day as well as helping to publicise the event through her own marketing job and also organising some stirring encouragement for the runners along the course by getting the Britannia Pipe Band along to play.
“The atmosphere was amazing. I was a marshal at the race, along with my son and partner cheering on the runners. I was also happy to talk to members of the public who asked what was happening and tell them about SNAP’s work. I always appreciate the genuine gratitude that members of SNAP show to their volunteers at events – it’s an indication of how fabulous they are too!”
Robert Dennis, SNAP’s Community Fundraiser, is hugely appreciative of the passion and dedication of the community volunteers team. “SNAP’s fundraising receives a huge boost from our kind-hearted volunteers – they often make the crucial difference in being able to have a SNAP presence at community events. We love our extended family!”
