Skydive for SNAP on 9th June 2024!

As we continue SNAP’s 30th Anniversary year, we are inviting you to join our team on 9th June 2024 at Peterborough airfield for the thrill experience of a tandem skydive from 13,000 feet in the sky.

Fancy a once in a lifetime experience? Challenge yourself and join our team on 9th June 2024 for a tandem skydive!

Help raise vital funds to support families across Essex who have a child or young person with any additional need or disability when they need it most, by taking on the thrill of jumping out of a plane from 13,000 feet! You will be strapped to a fully qualified professional instructor from Skyline Events who will do all the hard work, leaving you to enjoy the view.

You will freefall at speeds of up to 125mph before parachuting and gliding to the ground.

Your support really does mean the world to us, now more than ever.

Check out our FAQs for all the information you need to get involved:

What do I need to do?

  • Sign up directly with Skyline events at: skyline
  • All we ask is that each skydiver raises a minimum sponsorship of £395 which covers:
    • £72.50 deposit for you to pay at the time of booking (this inc. £2.50 booking fee);
    • £230 jump cost, which will come out of your funds raised or can be paid in cash on day of jump to the airfield;
    • £95 comes to SNAP as well as any additional funds you raise!
  • You will need to organise all aspects of travelling to and from the venue on the day of the event.

How does it all work on the day?

  • Once you have your skydive booked in, Skyline will send you a confirmation email with everything you need to know. You can also check out Skyline’s FAQs which has lots of useful information to help you prepare for the big day!
  • What a common jump day looks like for the skydiver at the airfield can be found here.

Are there any height/weight restrictions?

  • Yes, there are restrictions at the Peterborough airfield in Cambridgeshire. There is a maximum weight of 15st 8 for males and 15st 6 for females. They do operate a strict weight to height ratio so please contact Skyline events directly at: [email protected] for more details.

What happens if the weather is bad on the day?

  • The one aspect of your day that is out of our control is definitely the weather – if the forecast is looking bad in the days leading up to your jump, you may be contacted by the airfield to reschedule. However, if you have not heard anything to the contrary, you must still turn up to your jump.

How do I get my supporters to sponsor me?

  • The best way is to set up your own JustGiving page via SNAP’s 30th Anniversary Skydive campaign and choose the orange ‘Start Fundraising’ button to create your own fundraising page. The event and SNAP charity details have already been linked to the page for you.
  • Here is a handy guide of how to personalise your JustGiving page
  • Don’t want to use a fundraising page. That’s fine, you can collect all your sponsorship money and pay the balance for your skydive directly to Skyline Events on the day of the jump. All remaining sponsorship funds can be paid directly into SNAP.  Please email [email protected] to organise this.

When and how can I start fundraising for the event?

  • Straight away! There is no time like the present to get started. So, sign up with Skyline, create your fundraising page and tell all your family and friends about what you will be doing.
  • Lots of social media posts – Download the image below (On a computer, simply right-click to save or hold and save, or screenshot and crop on a phone) and post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn with the link to your JustGiving page.
  • Don’t forget to keep your supporters updated on how you are preparing for your challenge on social media as often as possible. Don’t forget to tag us on your posts and use #snapcharity30
