Ruth was delighted to win £310

“I have been a member of SNAP since 2017, not long after my eldest daughter was born.

“SNAP helped my daughter so much at a time that was fraught with anxiety and sadness. Her access to the sensory sessions at SNAP not only improved her quality of life immeasurably, but helped me too; my life had been turned upside down and SNAP helped me to feel supported when I was feeling heartbroken and vulnerable.

“My daughter was still a baby when we joined and we had to wait ten uncertain months before receiving her diagnosis: a spontaneous genetic mutation that caused CDKL5 Deficiency Disorder. This rare condition results in severe and often intractable epilepsy, profoundly affects motor development and cognition, and has left my daughter with a severe form of cerebral visual impairment (CVI). As such, it was only through regular access to bright, colourful, visually interesting light-up sensory equipment that we could open up her world and give her a real chance.

“I am eternally grateful to SNAP and this fundraising scheme seemed like an excellent way to help because it was easy to join, would raise money for SNAP and, as an added bonus, I might even win. Then, lo and behold, I did win!

“I was over the moon! I couldn’t have won at a better time because I was pregnant and beginning to prepare for our new arrival. I spent the money on new light-up toys and musical instruments for my eldest daughter, and baby-essentials for her brand new little sister.”

Lisa won £750

“I joined the 200+Club several years ago to help and support SNAP’s impressive work. It’s a fantastic fundraiser for the charity and it makes you feel great to be helping.

“When I received an email from SNAP informing me I was a winner it brought tears to my eyes – I never win any raffles or prize draws. It couldn’t have come at a more needed time of the year. I was able to buy some of the more expensive Christmas presents my children were asking for.”

“Even if you don’t get pulled out of the drawer, you are still a winner for supporting such an amazing charity.”

Suzanne won £210

“It was such a lovely surprise as I never win anything! I had joined because it’s such a simple, but effective way to raise money for SNAP, and a way to give a little bit back and say thank you for all the amazing support my family has received over the years.

The children all chose a treat with the prize money. My son Henry, was over the moon with his Peppa Pig school bus which he’d had his eye on for a while! I would definitely encourage others to join – giving to SNAP and the chance of a prize – what’s not to love about that?!”

Karen won £680

“I’m aware of the exceptional work SNAP does for families across Essex as I have many friends working and volunteering for the charity. Being part of the 200+Club was an easy decision but I was amazed to win the ‘bumper prize’ in the November draw.

The money will be spent on treating my family to a meal at the new chicken restaurant – CKN – in Brentwood. Then when the weather gets a bit warmer I’d like to purchase a BBQ and some garden furniture so that family and friends can enjoy good times. Thank you SNAP!”

Deirdre won £600

“I joined as a way to support SNAP’s 20th anniversary and I bought a number for each member of the family,” said Deirdre.

“I was so surprised to learn that I had won. I had actually been representing SNAP that same day at an event to raise awareness for the charity.”

Deirdre booked a special treat: “As we joined as a family we are sharing the money and have booked a day out in London for a meal and to see the musical Jersey Boys. We are going to have a fantastic family day out, making memories, thanks to SNAP.”

“I would advise anyone to go for it; not only are you supporting an amazing charity that makes a difference to so many families, you could fund a special occasion to remember too!”

Maggie won a warming £200

Maggie also joined the 200+ Club because it was a great way to support SNAP with the possible bonus of a fabulous prize.

“I was absolutely delighted to win. I went out and bought luxurious duvets for my family that I had had my eye on,” beams Maggie.

“The 200+Club is a brilliant idea. It’s an easy way to support SNAP who are a lifeline to many families. SNAP has been an ongoing source of help and advice to my family.”

Judy won £280

“I joined the 200+Club last year as another way to give to such a worthy cause. I never expected to actually win anything, so it was a wonderful surprise. The money went towards a holiday in Croatia with my friends. I would definitely encourage others to join as it is so easy to do.”
