SNAP Charity in Brentwood is looking to recruit a volunteer to act as Clerk to the SNAP Trustee Board. The role will take an average of 10 hours per month and except for formal meetings it can be undertaken at home or in the SNAP offices as preferred. The main responsibilities are working with the Chair of Trustees and the Directors to ensure papers are prepared and circulated to Trustees prior to board meetings (normally 5 evenings per annum) and taking and then distributing minutes after each meeting.

As the role involves providing administrative support, we’d love to find someone who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good planning and organisation, ICT skills (Microsoft Word and Outlook). Anyone with previous experience of governance support would be welcomed with open arms!

A lot to ask of a volunteer? Maybe, but you would be joining a team of 11 Trustees (all volunteers) and supporting a great Charity. And for those who don’t know us, SNAP supports Essex families who have a child or young person, aged 0-25, with any additional need or disability. Our aim is to inform, encourage and support parents so that they can grow in strength and knowledge and become better equipped to give the best possible help to their children.

If you’ve been looking for a volunteering opportunity that enables you to join a lively team whilst supporting the work of a fantastic charity please send a brief CV and email to [email protected].

With help SNAP can continue to support Essex families who have any special need or disability, as it has been doing for the last 28 years. We are currently supporting more than 3,200 families across Essex.
