Choir

For young people with additional needs aged 11-25

Led by a fully qualified music therapist, each session is a safe space to grow in confidence, creativity, and social development through music. Sessions begin with physical, breathing, and vocal warmups. Children/young people also choose the songs they want to sing, giving them greater ownership of the choir and helping them feel more agency in the activities they are participating in, then everyone then sings a song together, learning the melody and sometimes harmony parts. This is a mixed ability to group, so Zoom is an option for those with a complex need. Parents can relax together, use the library or speak to a parent adviser. Siblings are welcome to use the facilities upstairs while the session is running.
