Kick for a cause – Charity 5-a-side football tournament is a belter

Cooper Parry and FRP Advisory joined forces to organise their first charity tournament – all in aid of SNAP! 13 teams laced up their boots and faced the clouds last Friday at Billericay Town Football Club.

 

Tanveer Mahtab-Ahmed, Associate Partner at Cooper Parry, and Victoria Copeland, Business Development Executive at FRP Advisory, welcomed players to The Clubhouse for team drinks. At 3PM the players ran through the Billericay Football Club tunnel onto a very wet pitch ahead of kick off.

 

After 7 rounds of back-to-back games, only four teams were left to battle it out in the semi-finals – The Mighty Saints, Ellisons Solicitors, Birkett Long and Shawbrook. The sun finally made an appearance just as we reached the Finals. Ellisons Solicitors and The Mighty Saints went toe-to-toe in a close match, with Ellisons pulling ahead to take home the winner’s trophy.

 

However, the biggest prize of the day was the £3,727.50 raised for SNAP, which will help the charity to continue to support families who have a child with any additional need or disability across Essex.

 

Tanveer said, “It was an absolute honour to be able to raise such a substantial amount from our first ever tournament for a great cause. It bought joy to my eyes seeing everyone come together, we can’t thank our sponsors and players enough for supporting us make the event a success”.

 

Victoria added, “We are delighted with the success of our charity football tournament and the amazing amount raised for SNAP! It’s wonderful to see the community coming together. Thank you to all our volunteers, fundraisers and supporters, your dedication has truly made a difference!
