How to Get the Best out of Your Professional
A workshop by Rachel Wright
26th September 2018
Award winning blogger and author Rachel Wright joined us at The SNAP Centre to present her workshop on “how to get the best out of your professional”.
20 parents took part in the workshop, where Rachel shared her own story with vulnerability, honesty, humour and practical advice. She helped the parents reflect on their personal story and how they can look after themselves when engaging with the professionals that support their child.
Rachel then encouraged them to think about their support network and how effective those relationships are. She gave practical information and advice on communicating with professionals, including a masterclass on how to write an efficient email to get your views across.
Below are some examples of the feedback we received from parents following the talk:
“Very empowering. I will use lots of these top tips in future meetings and dealings with professionals.”
“Rachel’s talk was inspiring (and emotional). It has given me hope and a better understanding of how to approach the minefield of SEN”
“Excellent advice on interacting positively with relevant professionals to achieve the best outcomes. Very well presented – informative and fun.”
