About this Specialist Talk
Licensed Makaton tutor Debby Auvache will be joining the SNAP team to lead a workshop for parents introducing Makaton.
This will be a small group, practical session where you will gain an understanding of Makaton and how it is used as a communication tool and to support communication development.
The Makaton Charity describes Makaton as “a unique language programme that uses symbols, signs and speech to enable people to communicate. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention and listening, comprehension, memory, recall and organisation of language and expression.” [Source: https://makaton.org/TMC/About_Makaton/What_is_Makaton.aspx]
