Egg-cellent support from the local community
Brentwood Estate Agents make an egg-stra special delivery to SNAP
The cracking team at HS Estate Agents in Brentwood have been moved by the response of the local businesses community to a charity plea they hatched to provide Easter eggs for the children and young people at neighbouring charity SNAP.
The team at HS Estate Agents knew of SNAP’s essential work helping families across Essex as they had already raised funds and awareness for them and were keen to support SNAP once again.
“We previously collected Easter Eggs for SNAP in 2019 and it was a wonderful experience for us to engage with a local charity for children,” said Property Manager, Kirsty Surma.
“I have a friend that attends sessions at SNAP with her child and she has told me what a safe haven the sessions have been for them both.
“We raised awareness by posting on social media, sending letters to large companies locally and spreading the word through family and friends. The number of eggs we have received has been… egg-cellent – we counted 489! We have been blown away by the generosity from the local businesses in our community!”
“A huge thank you to Mullis & Peake, Unison IT, Nails at Studio 4, Move U Ltd, Bennetts Funeral Directors, I Gabriel Decorating, Concept Original, Assure Heating & Plumbing Ltd, Kitchen Centro, Nisa Brentwood, Waitrose and Wilko for answering our plea.”
The HS Estates team were eager to make their egg-stra special delivery to The SNAP Centre on Friday 1st April and the SNAP Team were delighted to receive such a huge wonderful donation.
“The Easter School Holidays will see hundreds of children and young people visit our centre for activity sessions including siblings, along with their parents and carers,” said SNAP Family Services Manager, Pam.
“We offer a safe and non-judgement environment for our families and our planned Easter fortnight of fun is hugely popular and greatly anticipated by the team and visitors alike. Being able to give everyone a gift to take home with them to enjoy from their visit is greatly appreciated by everyone and we are so grateful to the team at HS Estates and all the contributing businesses. Our children and young people will have huge smiles on their faces when they see such an amazing pyramid of Easter eggs to choose from and it will make leaving the centre a little easier for them.”
While the HS Estates team have enjoyed taking on the choc-tastic challenge for SNAP they are pleased they are no longer in the office.
“It’s been a huge temptation walking past a mountain of easter eggs!” remarks Kirsty. “We were egg-stremely ready for them to go to take that temptation away!
“Due to everyone’s generosity we are now looking forward to getting cracking on a campaign to collect chocolate treats again for SNAP families at Christmas so watch this space…”
