This service assesses children and adults of all ages with long term and complex needs and liaises with many other services.

The team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, technical instructors and rehabilitation engineering staff, supported by administrators.

The wheelchair service works within agreed criteria.

Following assessment, equipment may be provided including:

manual wheelchairs
specialist children’s buggies
powered wheelchairs for indoor and indoor/outdoor independent use
wheelchair accessories
wheelchair cushions
supportive seating systems for wheelchairs

This wheelchair service is available to patients registered with GPs in Basildon, Billericay, Wickford and Thurrock.
