SAFE (Supporting Asperger Families in Essex) is a support group for individuals and families affected by Asperger syndrome and high functioning autism in Essex.

SAFE Face-To-Face Sessions take place every Monday 10am to 12noon. Bookable one-to-one meetings with SAFE’s Development Worker at Trust Links, 47 Fairfax Drive, Southend-on-Sea.

SAFE SPA (Social Participation for Asperger’s) is a group for adult members aged 18+ meeting on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10.30am to 12 noon at Trust Links in Southend.

SAFE Stuff offers social skills training for children aged 8 to 12 years and the SAFE Youth Club offers leisure activities such as swimming and bowling to young people aged 13 to 21 years.

In addition, SAFE ASAP (Asperger Syndrome Adults and Parents) is a monthly group for families and young people aged 17 plus and is generally held during the evening of the fourth Wednesday of each month in Chelmsford or Southend.

SAFE Youth Group is run by Southend Borough Council’s Early Help Community Team in partnership with SAFE for students aged 11 to 16 years with a diagnosis of Asperger’s or HF ASD and meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 6pm to 7.30pm in Southend.

SAFE Coffee Morning is a friendly group for adults with AS/HFA and parents, which meets on the third Friday of each month from 10am to 12 noon at Wetherspoons,The Roebuck in Rayleigh.

SAFE Women’s Group for women aged 18+ meet from 10.30am to 12noon on the second Friday of each month at the Shoeburyness Trustlinks site.

SAFE Spouses Group is for members who have a partner on the spectrum and meets from 7.30pm to 9pm on the first Tuesday of each month in Southend.
