Short Breaks gives families the chance to take a break from their normal routines and enjoy doing fun things together. They also give children and young people the chance to do fun and different activities.

Short Breaks gives families the chance to take a break from their normal routines and enjoy doing fun things together. They also give children and young people the chance to do fun and different activities.
Short Breaks are for children and young people who:
- are aged between 0 and 18, or 19 to 25 and have a personal budget
- have a diagnosis of special educational needs and/or a disability
- live within the administrative boundaries of Essex County Council (excluding Southend and Thurrock)
Clubs and activities are available after school and during school holidays.
Adapted and un-adapted caravans are available to hire via a Short Breaks scheme.
Beach Huts are available to hire in Clacton and Walton via a Short Breaks scheme.
Max Cards allow eligible families to visit over 1,100 attractions at a free or discounted rate.
Short Break Tickets for days out at Colchester Zoo, Marsh Farm or Paradise Wildlife Park are available to registered families via Short Breaks.
