The Brake Care Helpline is for victims and carers, including professionals such as police and health agencies. It is staffed by professional carers offering emotional support and practical advocacy.

The helpline officers can help with:

  • emotional support by advising on how to cope

  • accessing legal advice putting callers in touch with specialist legal advisors to assist with a range of legal queries, including civil claims
  • sourcing counselling and other support agencies helping to arrange specialist and appropriate treatment from an expert either via the NHS or elsewhere. Officers will also signpost callers to other national and local support organisations as appropriate to their needs.
