DB Deputy Services Ltd

Supporting family members to apply themselves for Deputyship for their loved one.

Overview

For family members who want to apply to the Office of the Public Guardian to be a Deputy for their loved one, DB Deputy Services can offer a support package to complete the necessary paperwork and manage the process for you from start to finish.

DB Deputy Services can be instructed to act as a Property and Finances Deputy for someone who does not have the mental capacity to deal with their finances. This means they apply to the Court of Protection for a Deputyship Order which, once granted, means they take responsibility for the person’s property and finances. They can be asked to be Deputies by the Local Authority, or by family members or friends. The application process is rigorous, and all Deputies are supervised by the Office of the Public Guardian. They file an Annual Report to the OPG to show how they have made financial decisions and give an overview of the person’s finances.
