Wizzybugs are small, fun, powered wheelchairs designed specifically for very young children from the age of 14 months upwards that are available free of charge via a loan scheme from the charity Designability. 

Families can self-refer to the scheme by completing the application form on the website.

Wizzybug:

• Is suitable for children aged 14 months upwards to a maximum weight of 20kg (approx age 5)
• Offers children fun, independence and freedom of movement, often for the first time in their lives.
• Can be used to explore indoors, outdoors and off-road.
• Helps children with any condition or developmental delay that affects their ability to walk, including those who do not yet have a diagnosis.
• Is completely free of charge and families keep it for as long as it is safe and suitable for their child when it is then returned to be refurbished for another family.
