Citizens Advice Tendring Mental Health Hub

Supported volunteering opportunities in a Clacton charity shop for adults in recovery from ill mental health.

Overview

At the Mental Health Hub, they offer a 12-month supported placement in a charity shop for those over the age of 18 in recovery from ill mental health.

While you’re with them you’ll learn new skills, make new friends, and build confidence with the help of the mental health support team. As this is a supported role, you are never pressured and progress through the retail training programme at your own pace, deciding when you are ready to move from behind the scenes to a customer facing role.

They also aim to develop other areas of the volunteers’ lives alongside their mental wellbeing, including:

·        Assisted access to the Citizens Advice Tendring advice team,

·        North Essex Digital Access Support Team provide a fortnightly drop-in service for I.T information and queries.

They aim to give all their volunteers a tailored and positive move on at the end of their 12-month placement, from entering paid employment to finding the perfect social group.
