About this Specialist Talk
What are the seven senses (and more…) and what does it mean when a person has sensory processing differences? Sensory processing differences are very commonly experienced by people who have a diagnosis of autism, but are also often experienced by people who have no diagnosis – including all of us at times (e.g. when overwhelmed, tired, hungry, etc).
Sensory processing differences can be problematic – leading to issues coping in certain environments. Developing your awareness of how sensory needs may present in your child, give tools for analysing these and strategies to help your child to cope effectively.
Please note: this is not a substitute for medical advice. If you have concerns about your child’s sensory processing differences please consult your GP or other relevant health professionals
