Organise an Event

getinvolved organiseaneventOrganising your own event can be fun and very rewarding, whether it be a small event at home with your friends or a major event at a large venue, the choices are endless. Events are a great way to collect vital funds for us, so that we can continue to support families who have children and young people with special needs.

How can I organise an event in aid of SNAP

Once you have an idea of what type of event you would like to organise you can go ahead with the planning and preparation. If you need some inspiration on the types of fundraising events you can do please visit the More Fundraising Ideas section of our website.

There are a few important things you need to consider when running your own event:

  • Make it clear that you’re raising funds in aid of SNAP and that you don’t actually represent SNAP.
  • It’s your responsibility to ensure your event runs safely. SNAP cannot accept liability for accidents or damage to people or property as a result of your event or activity. You can find out more at
  • Obtain all necessary licenses, permits and consents for your event or activity. If you are planning an event in a public place, you will need to contact your local police. Institute of Fundraising website contains useful information.
  • Make sure that any promotional material you send out is checked by a member of the SNAP Fundraising Team. In most cases we may be able to provide you with promotional material to save you time.
  • Please don't approach companies, organisations or charitable trusts without letting us know first.
