About this Specialist Talk
An interactive two-hour workshop designed to empower parents and carers of children with SEND to communicate more confidently and effectively with professionals. Through practical activities and relatable discussion, we’ll explore behavioural styles, understand how vulnerability can trigger unhelpful patterns, and learn tools to establish clear boundaries. You’ll also gain insight into psychological concepts like discounting and ego states, with a focus on stepping into a more grounded, “Adult” mode of interaction. Whether you struggle with being heard or want to strengthen your voice at the table, this session will offer real-life strategies to support assertive, respectful dialogue.
Host Natalie Fernando is a SEND Advocate, Neurodiversity Coach, a counselling skilled coach and qualified family mediator. Find out more about her here.
