SUMMARY:Emotional Resilience for Parents of Children with SEND
DESCRIPTION:Emotional Resilience for Parents of Children with SEND\n10am to 12noon at The SNAP Centre\n \n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n\n\nFive Part Course For Parents of Children with SEND\nCourse Description:\n\n\n\nParenting a child with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) can be an emotional rollercoaster. This course\, “Emotional Resilience for Parents of Children with SEND\,” is designed to help parents navigate the complex emotions that come with this journey. Delivered by Natalie Fernando\, a counselling skilled coach and qualified family mediator\, this course provides a safe and supportive environment for parents to explore their feelings\, build resilience\, and find strength in their unique parenting experience. \n  \nCourse Objectives:\n\nUnderstanding Emotions: Gain insight into the common emotional responses to raising a child with SEND\, including grief\, guilt\, and anxiety.\nBuilding Resilience: Learn practical strategies to build emotional resilience and cope with stress.\nEffective Communication: Develop skills for open and honest communication with family members\, educators\, and healthcare providers.\nSelf-Care: Discover the importance of self-care and how to integrate it into your daily routine.\nSupport Networks: Connect with other parents and professionals to build a supportive community.\n\n  \nCourse Highlights:\n\nExpert Guidance: Sessions led by a qualified counsellor with extensive experience in supporting families of children with SEND.\nPersonal Stories: Hear from other parents who have navigated similar emotional journeys\, sharing their experiences and insights.\nResource Toolkit: Build a variety of strategies and tools to help support your own emotional wellbeing whilst advocating for your child/children.\n\n  \nWho Should Attend:\nThis course is ideal for parents and caregivers of children with SEND who are seeking emotional support and practical strategies to manage their thoughts & feelings. \n  \n★ Part 1: Wednesday 10th June – 10.00am to 12noon \n★ Part 2: Wednesday 17th June- 10.00am to 12noon \n★ Part 3: Wednesday 24th June- 10.00am to 12noon \n★ Part 4: Wednesday 1st July – 10.00am to 12noon \n★ Part 5: Wednesday 8th July – 10.00am to 12noon \nPlease read carefully before registering your interest:\n\nParents must be able to commit to attending all five sessions.\nPlease register your interest by emailing admin@snapcharity.org – we will then confirm places and send details on how to pay to secure your place.\nThis course is in-person at The SNAP Centre and will not be recorded.\nSNAP is unable to accommodate children at this session – a creche will not be available.\n\n  \n\n\n\nSNAP is charging a nominal fee for registered SNAP families and this is not a true reflection of the cost. However SNAP appreciates that the rise in the cost of living has impacted families with children with additional needs more than most\, and do not want a family’s financial situation to be a barrier to accessing services. Please contact SNAP if this is impacting on you accessing the course so we can discuss options.  \n  \n\n\n\nEmail admin@snapcharity.org to register your interest.\nThis course has been funded by donations raised in memory of Mark Reed\, who sadly passed away last year. Mark was an amazing man and a tremendous supporter of SNAP for many years. We are incredibly grateful.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n\nStart: Wednesday 10th June 2026\nCost: £50 per registered SNAP family\n\nVenue: The SNAP Centre \n\n\n\nPastoral Way\, Warley\, Brentwood\, CM14 5WF\, United Kingdom \n\n \n\n \n	\n\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Request to receive Parent and Carer support \n\n \n	\nGet Help\n	\n \n Help support The SNAP Centre and Services \n\n \n	\nGet Involved\n	\n \n Enquire about volunteering opportunities at SNAP \n\n \n	\nGet Volunteering\n	\n \n Follow Us\n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Helpline: 01277 211300\nEmail: familyteam@snapcharity.org\n9.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Thursday\nand 9.00am until 3.00pm on Friday. \n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n Volunteer for SNAP\nHelping out at our centre or supporting one of our many activities. Find out more » \n\n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n \n \n \n	\n\n	\n \n Directory/Our Impact/Need Support/Get Involved/About/Contact/Terms & Conditions/Privacy Policy/Cookie Policy/Safeguarding/Fundraising Policy/Compliments & Complaints/Accessibility
