HAMELIN HOUSE in Billericay is a residential short break care home for children with learning and/or multiple disabilities. Approximately 60 children per month stay for periods of time varying from a few hours to a few weeks dependent on needs. Well over 750 children have stayed at Hamelin House. No child has been refused a service on the grounds of the severity of their disability or 'challenging behaviour', with admission only limited by availability of places.

HAVERING COLLEGE ROSE PROGRAMME (Realistic Opportunities for Supported Employment) aims to improve the quality of life for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. ROSE works with clients living in the London Borough of Havering, or who attend Havering College of Further and Higher Education. The initiative places people with learning disabilities into paid employment and supports them until that person can independently sustain their employment alone. It offers an individual service to each client and sources the right form of employment for them. Job coaches then support the client in the workplace until both client and employer are confident with the role.
