The SNAP Directory has been compiled for the benefit of all people concerned with the welfare of children and young people with special needs and disabilities. It aims to provide a comprehensive guide of useful contacts to point parents, carers and professionals in the right direction in order that they are able to give the best possible help to children and young people.
The online Directory has been updated and redesigned incorporating a useful search facility. A 2007 hard copy Directory is available from The SNAP Centre.
The hard copy Directory comprises:
168 A4 pages of information
Approximately 1,100 entries
27 categories including Essex support, national support, conditions/difficulties, respite, sport & leisure activities, holidays/travel, equipment, counselling, education services including employment, Social Care Services, multi-agency providers and Health Services
Alphabetical index and category index
The SNAP Directory was produced in association with Essex County Council, Schools, Children and Families.
*UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2008* The current (2007) directory is now available to professionals for £3.00 per directory to cover postage or free if collected. Don't forget, however, that the SNAP Directory is provided free to parents/carers of children with special needs and disabilities.
