Brentwood to Barcelona Charity Bike Ride September 2010 PLEASE CLICK ON THE CYCLIST TO SEE HOW THEIR PREPARATIONS ARE GOING AND/OR MAKE A DONATION
A group of 5 friends Sean Balmford, Paul Merrington, Richard Robins, Daniel Stewart and Sean Snell, plus one driver for a support vehicle are going to be undertaking a huge physical (and mental!!) challenge.
They will be cycling (pedal) from Brentwood in Essex to Barcelona! Yes Barcelona in Spain! This is in aid of SNAP and two other tremendous charities:-
Great Ormond Street Hospital (a place that some members of the trip have come to greatly appreciate with their children having been treated there in the past and needing continued care in the future).
The YJS Trust www.yjstrust.com for the Helen Rollason Cancer Charity (alternative treatment centre in Essex).
This epic journey will take place between Friday the 10th and Sat the 18th of September 2010. The team is therefore aiming to complete the 1,000 plus miles in a total of 9 days from start to finish - all of them riding the full distance through France to Barcelona via some of the famous Pyrenean Mountain passes.
This trip will be personally expensive for the team in both time and money and we would like to stress that ALL costs are being covered by them and all the monies raised will go directly to the charities. We at SNAP are so grateful to the two Seans, Paul, Richard and Daniel for taking on this huge challenge to raise funds for the three charities.
The team is also hoping for corporate sponsorship including a backup vehicle. Please contact SNAP if you can help. Please click here to go to the JustGiving fundraising page.
Donations are made to the YJS Trust, which will distribute the funds to the three charities.
