About Us Introduction Special Needs And Parents (SNAP) is a registered charity (No. 1077787) that helps Essex families who have children aged 0-25 years with special needs and disabilities. The children's difficulties are wide-ranging including autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, dyslexia, sensory impairment, speech and language difficulties and learning disabilities. Aims SNAP's aims are to inform, encourage and support parents, allowing them to grow in strength and knowledge so that they are better equipped to give the best possible help to their children. Provision From The SNAP Centre in Warley, Brentwood, we provide: parent and pre-school children groups; telephone support and information; face to face advice; a specialist library; a large number of talks and training courses; children's and young people's activities; music therapy; drama club; sibling support; and social events for families. We also produce a major directory of useful contacts and regular newsletters and news sheets, which are both regarded as vital by our families. |
